1 NEWS ( as in geo news)= north east west south
2 AID( as in US AID)= Artificial Insemination By Donar
3 IBM= International Business Machines
4 HP(computer company) = Hewleet Packard
5 UPS( very common these days)= Uninterruptible power supply
6 NATO(everyone knows it)= Northern Atlantic treaty organization
